For the price,you ain't gonna touch this camera with anything else out there!I'm a bikie,I hunt,fish surf run,etc,,,and I bought this camera mainly to film my Striper/Surf fishing catches. I was filming them with one hand on the rod,and the other,reeling,trying to fight the fish,with obvious shaky results.I'm a good photographer,and 90% of the fishing I do is either on rocks, boulders,on or,in the water,along the beaches of Cape Cod,or along the rip rap of the Cape Cod Canal,so a tripod is out of the question.I also like the "live",hands on aspect of an action cam shot,so this looked like something for me.For the price,I was leary of the quality,but gave it a shot.Going to be in a sandy, salt water enviroment,it would be put to an inexpensive test,to say the least.It comes in a neat box,and first impression,was of the overall quality of the camera,housing,and all the hookups,and even the driver disk.Basically,the camera is about 3/4 the size of my thumb!!The waterproof housing is astoundingly rugged, and well built!Quite impressive,for the money,but does it work?You take the camera,and plug it into a supplied USB cable,then plug it into a computer,to charge,Mine,took about an hour.Then you insert a micro SD card into a slot on the side of the camera,for memory.The micro SD card is not supplied,but 10 bucks bought me a 16 gig card online,which maxxes the memory support for this camera.Turn the camera on with a slide switch,and you can either have vox operation(another slide switch on the side),or manual push button video activation.It also takes stills,via another push button on the camera.Now for the meat of the review.This is considered a "pinhole"type camera,because of its micro size,the lens is TINY,so not much loght is allowed thru the lens.Therefore low light applications are out,unless you have a GOOD artificial light source.If you are filming in broad daylight you are IN! For testing, I tried it indoors,and it was grainy,but passable,but out doors was fine!I also noticed almost no parallax effct inherent in most digital cameras.This was awesome,as its so small. Now,I put it in the waterproof housing,and attach it to my hat,with the supplied band, and I now have hands free camera ops.I can crawl down the rocks of the Canal,or be waist deep in a boulder field,in the surf,with both hands playing the fish!!Its TOO COOL!!Very useful, for what I want to do with it.Also I got about 6 inches away from subjects, before it blurrs out.Not quite macro,but its a Freakin' action cam,so,so what.There's a bunch of obvious other apps for this little gadget,for me,such as Motorcycle runs,obvious hunting vids with creative mounting aspects,surfing,etc.and a bunch more.The only negative points I could think of,is that its only good for a charging cycle,then its back to the computer for more juice.If there was a way for an adapter for a car charger,or batteries,it would be perfect,but the batteries are internal.The very bottom line is that for the price,I paid, 28 bucks!!!!!!!!!),this video action cam is way well built,takes very acceptable vids,and stills,and frees up your whole body for anything you want to film!!
